Tucson and beyond

Travels continued…January was spent in Tucson Arizona. We decided we liked Tucson the best when we were exploring the southern part of Arizona. So, we moved our trailer down to an RV park south of Tucson called Rincon West. It too was a nice park with most of the same amenities as Palm Creek in Casa Grande. Again, we went exploring looking for an area we liked. The foothills stuck out on our list of likes mostly for the views. There’s a beautiful mountain range called the Catalina’s and the view of the valley was wonderful. A friend of mine that lived in Tucson for 6 years convinced us to explore Sabina Canyon. We’ve learned that if someone who lives in an area tells you to visit somewhere, it usually means it’s worth it. And it was.

Meanwhile, taxes were due and Paula needed to return to Vancouver to prepare them for our accountant. So, at the end of January, she planned her return. Somehow Warren didn’t like the idea of being alone for two weeks and at the last minute decided to join her. Ahh, togetherness, it’s habit forming. The trip to Vancouver went all too fast. First the taxes, second the family (well maybe that should be reversed), and third our friends. We were able to visit with a lot of you and those we weren’t able to see, next time we are in town you will be top on our list (if you want) to visit with. We stayed with Paula’s parents, Adi and Ben, and Paula spent two days with Dar in Gig Harbor.

Upon our return to Tucson we decided to visit with Warren’s high school friends (Greg and Tinker Stotz) who moved to Green Valley (a retirement community about 30 miles south of Tucson). They moved here full time about 8 years ago and just love it.  We were getting a little tired of the trailer life (it only took us 3 months to get there) so we decided to rent a house for a few days in their community (Quail Creek). We had a great time with them. They introduced us to some of their friends and took us to Tubac to eat at a landmark restaurant called "Wisdom's". It has opened for business in 1946 and is still going strong. It opens at 5 PM and if you're not there shortly after that you will wait for a table. Then we spent the night at their house before heading for San Diego. Now it's time to return to our very cozy trailer. Our travels continue. Next stop, the Baja…
